In doing so, he kinda lost his own.
As a result of this, we are financially not doing as well as we could be ( did I mention I went to University in Ontario for a few years-6 or so... That leaves me with a huge amount of school loans).
Aside from that, saving money isn't really easy when we only have one grocery store to choose from, because we live in a small farming community with a few thousand people ( much less than the 500 000 people in Hamilton, ON) and the closest city is 45 minutes away.
So, now we have to change what we're used to.
The good thing about small town living is that there isn't all that much as far as take out-saves us on that, but we also haven't discovered the small gems that we knew about in our own hometown.
My plan is to document the things I've learned here and wherever we go in the future. I'm lucky to have been graced with creativity from my family, and a cheap personality ( thanks dad), but a touch of slightly more uppity living from the good fortune and hard work of my grandparents.
My favourite meal is mushroom soup with ground beef and frozen mixed vegetables-on whatever i have access to, or just on it's own. This comes from growing up without much money.
I have lots of hobbies, though, like scrapbooking and cardmaking, and hiking and camping etc... Which are all... Somewhat pricey. I've more recently developed a love for firearms and am in the process of legally being allowed to own guns(!) but that's pretty not cheap either.
My green thumb is black but I'm going to be working on that.
Now... Let's see how this trip unfolds.
