Wow. So, there's a saying: "the days are long, but the weeks are short".
This couldn't be more true in adulthood, I suppose, and it's probably similar anywhere you go.
We've lived in Manitoba a few months past a year. No spend was okay last February, we've been attempting it this January but it's a bit harder than not.
Things we've learned:
- Cats keep away mice by their smell alone. Ours doesn't seem to catch them, and I wish he was more outside than inside as I don't particularly like cats, but I guess he is what he is. We seem to have lost the mice problem though, so obviously it worked.
-This past summer was fantastic for mosquitoes, in that there were very few. Startlingly few.
Extremely less than expected.
-Work makes it hard to go camping.
-Winter cabin-ing is awesome at James Lake cabin, although a second person would have been nice to have around too.
-Married life is essentially the same as un-married life.
-Winter this year is really nice. Super nice. Not terribly cold for long term periods, not terribly wet, not terribly snowy, not terribly anything. Just closer to -20Celsius, maybe -35 with the windchill on average.
-The world moves on at a steady pace.
